About Us
K9 Explorers, based in Tauranga, Bay of Plenty, offers training and group adventures for dogs. I'm Leah, a certified trainer and professional dog walker, and it's a joy to take your beloved pets on outdoor adventures while they enjoy the exercise and enrichment they deserve. Additionally I find it rewarding to help owners see how intelligent their dogs are and to strengthen their bonds through positive reinforcement training. My journey into dog behavior began when I adopted Khan, my brindle mixed breed from the SPCA, who sadly passed away in December 2024 at 13.5 years old. His early struggles taught me invaluable lessons about dog language and training, and my 11 years of experience in dog rescue, including six as an SPCA volunteer and fostering over a dozen puppies, has deepened my passion for dogs. In 2023, earned the prestigious Dog Trainer Professional Diploma from The Karen Pryor Academy and have continued to upskill.

Leah is such a wonderful person. She just loves dogs and they love her. She walks our elderly dog and he adores her. He has benefited from the training she gives during walks. Pictures and an update from every walk. Really professional, reliable and fabulous value.
My two border collies Layla and Milo totally adore Leah, she walks them weekly and keeps me updated whilst I am at work its lovely to receive photos of their adventure. She's very experienced and has a lovely calm nature
